Holism

According to Dr. Diamond, a psychiatric medical doctor who is an applied kinesiologist and one of Dr. Sahara's mentors, states the word, “Holism” is a very new word. “It has only been in recorded existence since 1926, being coined by a remarkable man Jan Christian Smuts.” In the Oxford English Dictionary “Holism” is defined:

“A term coined by Gen. J.C. Smuts (1870-1950) to designate the tendency in nature to produce wholes (i.e. bodies or organisms) from the ordered grouping of unit structures… The whole-making holistic tendency, or Holism, operating in and through particular wholes, is seen at all stages of existence.”

Dr. Diamond added that one of the seminal writers in Smuts's life, who helped him with his concept of holism, was Walt Whitman, who said, “every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.” (Whitman's influence has been enormous extending to Ghandi, and including two of his physicians, both concern with holism: William Osler and Richard Bucke)

Diamond also points out that the Random House Dictionary defines holism as “the theory that whole entities, as fundamental components of reality, and have an existence other than as the mere sum of their parts.”

The Encyclopedia Britannica describes it as:

“The philosophy theory based on the presuppositions of emergent evolution, that entirely new things – “wholes” – are produced by a creative force within the universe; they are consequently more then mere arrangements of particles that already existed.”

Mirandola states:

“To divide a thing is the same as destroying it, nor can we take away from any thing its natural unity without at the same time robbing it of its integrity of being. For a whole is not its parts, but that unity which springs out of the sum of its parts, as Aristotle demonstrates in the eighth book of his Metaphysics.”

In the book, “Holism And Beyond” by Dr. Diamond states:

“This is what I try to feel about a sufferer. This is what I mean by seeing him holistically.  This is not just doing acupuncture on him or any other particular technique as a part of the rubric nowadays called holistic medicine. It is seeing every aspect of him as a whole. He is a whole, and all his functions within him are little wholes summating to this whole which is him within wholeness of his existence within the wholeness of Existence. And in order to be able to help him, you have to help him to see himself within the wholeness of his existence in the wholeness of Existence.”

Diamond adds:

“If you want to call this philosophy, then the ultimate easing of the suffering of mankind is to help them in their hearts to know this philosophy of holism. Once they know their wholeness in the wholeness of Existence, they are at last at peace.  They have gratefully accepted themselves in their existence.”

Acromioclavicular Injury

The joint between the collarbone and the shoulder blade is often injured, especially in athletic endeavors. This injury is frequently treated with manipulation (chiropractic adjustments) of the joint, designed to avoid any strain to the already injured ligaments.

Sometimes immobilization is needed after treatment; if the ligament injury is extremely severe, surgery may be indicated.

Like most joint injuries, the first thing Dr. Sahara would have to evaluate is the muscles that surround the joint. Imbalanced muscles will cause the AC - joint separation. Detailed manuel muscle testing and specific chiropractic adjustments are essential for proper and accelerated healing.

Applied Kinesiology looks at the patient holistically and not just locally. In most cases, fixing any particular extremity including the AC - joint requires adjusting and rebalancing the entire body. To fix an AC- joint injury or separation properly, the head, neck, shoulder, pelvis and feet need to be evaluated and treated. The whole is more important than the just looking at a specific joint problem.

Ligament Injury

Trauma to the shoulder or any joint of the body can cause ligament injuries. Ligaments are the fibrous bands holding bone to bone; they are components of almost all joints. Here again, immobilization is often needed for healing to take place.

Whenever ligaments, tendons, or bones are injured, specific nutritional supplementation can accelerate the healing process. If the ligament is painful and inflamed from physical activity or repetitive actions, there could be a possible blood sugar handling problem, as well as an adrenal stress disorder problem. Please see and click on "adrenal stress disorder" and "blood sugar handling problems" on www.saharaclinic.com for more information.

By using Applied Kinesiology, Dr. Sahara can access what is the cause(s) to the ligament injury as well as speed up the recovery time without any side effects. Please click on "Applied Kinesiology" on this website or at www.saharaclinic.com for more information.

Ligaments should be tight and strong; never laxed, weak or loose.  Loose and weak ligaments usually indicate the athlete or factory worker was an adrenal and blood sugar handling problem.  Loose ligaments can potentially cause serious injuries.
